  • Year 1935, Nea Karvali of Kavala. Kiriakos Kioutsoukostas goes in for breeding cows of Greek race with a view to propagating and then fattening the calves for meat production. The company cowsheds have a capacity of 200 cows and the whole of the produced meat is sold to the consumers of Kavala through the family’s butcher’s shop.

  • In 1968, is done the first serious step to the progress of the company as new cowsheds, of a capacity of 500 calves, are created to the area Perni of Kavala, where actually is gathered the whole of the productive activity.

  • In 1971, Kiriakos Kioutsoukostas sets up the “COMPANY OF MEAT PRODUCTION OF KAVALA S.A.” aiming the breeding of cows and the meat commerce. In 1975, the company changes legal form and title into “K. Kioutsoukostas & Sons S.A”.

  • In 1984, the second generation takes over strongly the initiative of activities with the establishment of “Kioutsoukostas Bros E.C.

  • In 1985 the two companies are merged setting up the “COMPANY OF MEAT PRODUCTION OF KAVALA Llc” that gives the foots for a complete presence in the sector of production and commerce of Greek meat

  • Between 1988 and 1994, to the area Perni of Kavala new investments are taking shape aiming the extension and the renovation of cowshed installations with a capacity of 2500 animals per year.

  • The year 1994 is considered as the turning – point of the company, with its successful insertion to the Athens Stock Exchange .At the same time 20 stremmas are bought further to the existing installation to ensure unobstructed extension of the company.

  • In 1995 the company makes good use of the capitals of Athens Stock Exchange, with the creation and the function of an elaboration unit end one of meat package. From now on, is created the picture of the contemporary vertical structure unit with prospects of rapid development into the strongly competitive environment of the European market.

  • Between the years 1998–1999, is created a unit of a 3 line abattoir as well as new units of breeding (17.000 s-m.) and the unit of packaging is extended. Also, is bought up a commission 61,66% of the company “Tsatsouli Bros S.A. (which has as subject the production of preserved oils and vegetables) With this movement the activity of the group is being dissociated.

  • Between 1999 – 2001 is constructed a unit of fattening lambs to the area of Gravouna and a share 41% is bought up to the company G.DELLAS&TSAKANIKAS.

  • In the year 2002, a privately owned unit of animal foodstuff preparation is constructed with a capacity of 345 tones raw materials and 100 tones prepared products. At the same time, within the year 2003 is decided the part with 25% to the equity capital of the French company Deltagro.



Among the years 2003-2006 is realized:

  • A sale of 25% of Deltagro and 61,66% of TSATSOULI BROS, so that the company focuses only to the meat sector and to the creation of new investments to this particular sector.
  • Extension of an ossification space for the production of chopped meat.
  • Production of frozen bovine/pork meat.
  • Breeding-Fattening of indigenous race veals.
  • Signing of contract for the construction of a by-products inactivation unit from the animal slaughter, worth 2,750.000,00 euros.

Among the years 2007-2008:

 

  • A unit of anaerobic treatment of waste completed closed to the slaughterhouse with total investment cost of € 2,750,000.
  • In the beginning of 2007, KREKA S.A. acquired the remaining 59% stake of “G. Dellas – P. Tsakanikas” for a total consideration € 3.5 million paid, while the total acquisition cost for the 100% of the company amounted to € 6.3 million.
  • The new name of the company is KREKA S.A.
